Ledges Hotel is located in Hawley, Pennsylvania, a charming small town in the Pocono Mountains. This once 19th century glass factory turned boutique hotel stay & restaurant is uniquely positioned alongside Paupack Falls and offers spectacular waterfall views. Inside, bright light filled interiors are punctuated by nature inspired design elements and soft earth tones. Offering just 19 guest suites, the hotel is perfectly sized to preserve an intimate and secluded feel, ideal for immersing in nature.
The Ledges Hotel first came onto my radar a few years ago as I sorted through stays on The Select Registry’s website – one of our favorite resources for finding B&B’s and boutique hotel stays. Fast forward to this past year when I found myself partnering with The Select Registry to feature some of their stays here on the blog (dreams really do come true!), I was beyond excited when the opportunity to visit The Ledges was presented.
Arriving at The Ledges Hotel I was bubbling with excitement after opening the car door and first hearing the faint sound of the falls, which were just out of view. We checked in and ventured through the lobby onto the Ledges’ outdoor decks. The views here truly live up to the hype, with decks staggered alongside the falls offering a variety of captivating vantage points and perspectives. A wealth of seating and lounging space is located on each deck, offering guests plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the views.
During our visit to The Ledges we stayed in one of the one-bedroom guest suites. The 2-floor lofted suite is outfitted with a bold spiral staircase connecting the downstairs living space and kitchen to the bedroom upstairs. The room featured an impressive amount of living space, notably larger than our own apartment back in DC, and an abundance of natural light. Minimalist design elements provide a clean and modern feel to the space, which mirrors the hotel’s natural surroundings. The Ledges Hotel offers a variety of guest suites varying in size and price point, some of which offering spectacular views of the falls.
Once we settled into our room, we headed downstairs to dine at The Ledges’ very own on-site restaurant ‘Glass‘. This modern Americana dining experience features small plate dishes perfect for sharing, and stunning views of the falls from the glass panoramic dining room & outdoor decks. For dinner we indulged in a variety of fun and colorful dishes from the rotating menu. A decadent and savory charcuterie board to start, followed by ramen noodle bites (a must have!), Korean BBQ chicken, and seared ahi tuna. Each dish better than the last, this is definitely a dining experience you do not want to miss!
We finished off our evening at The Ledges enjoying the outside terrace, cozied up by a firepit with a glass of wine. The sound of the falls serving as the perfect soundtrack, no matter what time of day. Overall a stay at The Ledges is defined by these simple moments, those spent watching and listening, fully immersed in the surrounding nature. There truly is, nothing quite like it.
Nestled in the valley of Lake Wallenpaupack, Hawley is a town in the Poconos known best for its lake shorelines. For those who prefer to stick to the shoreline, head over to the Ledges’ sister resort property – Silver Birches and grab cocktails at their outdoor bar or dine onsite at their waterfront Restaurant, The Dock.
Also located in Hawley, is The Lodge at Woodloch, an award winning all-inclusive spa resort that’s rated one of best in the US. Luckily for those visiting Hawley, The spa at Woodloch is also open to non-guests who wish to visit for a day spa experience. Personally, there is nothing I love more than a good spa day- and I have been to many of them, all over the world. I’m happy to report back, that the Spa at Woodloch is one of the absolute best I have ever experienced in my entire life. From the luxury spa facilities, to the 5-star spa treatments and service, this place is truly heaven on earth. Between treatments we could choose to unwind in one of the 5 hot tubs, take a swim in the indoor pool or even opt for the steam room or sauna. The resort is located on a pristine lakefront property and features a variety of nature walks that spa guests are also welcome to enjoy. Be sure to have lunch on property during your visit, the food is just as spectacular as the spa.
